Tired of the city life

Over the last few years I have found myself growing more and more tired of life in the city. This has somewhat bemused me because when I was growing up I was always quite adamant that I was a “city boy” and that I would find it hard and boring to live anywhere but in or near a city.

Oh how things change, as I am now nearing my thirties, more and more I thirst for a quieter stress free life, more than any other reason simply because life is no longer sustainable in the cities of Australia and in particular in Sydney, things are just too tough, too stressful.

You fight every morning to board a train, bus or fight against traffic just to go to work, where you feel stress and over worked and hidden away from daylight for hours upon hours at a time, we fight the crowds just trying to get some un-nutritious junk food for lunch and the stress still piles up. Then after all is said and done, you fall out the door from work, completely drained and sick of it all, and you fight again in the traffic or commuting hell playing sardines on the train or bus, just to get home.
Then you get home and after all of that you are expected  to continue some form of meaningful relationship with your partner after hours of pure exhaustion, you have to try and get yourself something for dinner, speak to your other half, walk the dog, go to any sports training, see your folks, see your friends, wind down, and do so so much more, by the time you get to bed it is midnight and you have achieved nothing, totally wiped out your head hits the pillow and you are off to sleep, only to be up again at 6:30 a.m to do it all over again.

How anyone supports a family or has children is beyond me, not only do I not have the time and not only do I do not have the energy, and the most important, despite all that work, struggle and stress I do not have the money, not in the city anyway.

So this little black duck?, well he is looking for a way out, and something on the radar may just be playing in favour.

Have any of you ever considered a sea change?

Have any of you done a sea change?

How exactly, did you go about making money and living day to day?
